Gretton Past and Present

The "Jo Stone"

The "Jo Stone", about 1905

Tradition has it that local farmers would strike a bargain over this stone. It can be seen at the corner of Kirby Road and Corby Road, and is probably a volcanic boulder.

Between the wars it was on the village green, but was then returned to its former home.
