Jon Garvey and Gill Pawson attended for the first part of the Meeting delivering a presentation on behalf of Shore Energy who are applying to County for planning permission to build a renewable energy plant on Gretton Brook Road. The installation will take household waste and produce a bio-degradeable fuel. Odour emissions will be dealt with on site. Vehicle turning areas are part of the plans.
Council are generally supportive of the proposal but concerns include additional lorry traffic and the impact on the local environment. Northants CC to be made aware of the reservations.
Chairman advised councillors to declare an interest where appropriate.
Report from County Councillor:-
Stan Heggs advised councillors to attend the next Rural Area Forum on 22nd January as the Fire Service would be giving a presentation of interest to villages.
He again drew attention to the hazards from turning lorries on Gretton Brook Road and has raised his concerns with both Corby BC and Northants CC. Replies are awaited.
Report from PCSO:-
Peter Heyward outlined plans for a week of action in Weldon and Gretton discussing anti-social behaviour through various mediums eg drama.
Ex prisoners who are legally selling products from door to door have been implicated in recent burglaries and a few arrests have followed.
Councillors raised parking problems in the village, particularly Kirby Road and Station Road at busy times.
The Minutes of the Meeting on 10th November 2008 were accepted as a true record and duly signed. There were no matters arising.
Report from Borough Councillor:-
Phil Bromhall and Terri Meechan informed councillors of improvements to the Corby BC website. Planning information particularly was enhanced and residents can register and gain access to the site.
Correspondence:-
An email has been received from Mike Powell at the Post Office requesting a grant from Council towards the installation of CCTV. NALC to be consulted along with opinion from Police.
Rural Pride Officer has circulated a map showing the flytipping hotspots in the area. One minor amendment to be made.

Minutes from Friends of Gretton Recreation Ground meetings
Planning:-
08/00511/DPA Demolish garage and construct annex and garage to side of property. 10, Harringworth Road.
Discussions centred around this extension being an annex and not a separate development. Neighbours have made representations about being overlooked. It is uncertain from the drawings exactly what is proposed. Corby BC to be consulted.
08/00524/DPA New extension to rear of 6, Craxford Road
No objections were raised save any neighbours privacy concerns being addressed.
Village Plan:-
Tim Fox reported that the Recreation Ground committee had met to discuss grant funding for a multi-use sports facility. The proposal is for a sports pitch about three times tennis court size with an Astroturf surface suitable for most ball sports.
Other similar facilities in the area will be contacted to assess any drawbacks.
Placing of the sports pitch will be on the side of the Recreation Ground where the old tennis court is sited.
A planning application is the first step then a grant request. Parish Council will lend support and neighbours to be consulted.

Immersion Heater and a window in the Pavilion to be replaced
Parking on Corby Road and Kirby Road remains a problem. PCSOs to be consulted.
Council is still awaiting a reply from Corby BC about Street Lighting repairs etc.
The Bus service has again provoked criticism from villagers. Northants CC are aware.
The sewer at the Club is again blocked. Paul Branagh to undertake clearance and consult Pat Butler.
W.I. have donated a seat to the Paddock Park which is now requiring replacement. Stronger materials including a metal frame to be investigated.
Date of Next Meeting to be 12th January 2009 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
