Rob McCracken representing Gretton Football Club requested funding for repairs to the Pavilion. From the quotes obtained expenditure would be around £900 for woodwork and tiling. Council accepted this and asked to be kept informed of progress.
Chairman reminded Councillors to declare an interest where appropriate.
The Minutes of the Meeting on 14th September were accepted as a true record and duly signed.
Matters Arising:-
Elisabeth Jordan of the Pocket Park Committee reported that work on the sundial was in progress.
The Deeds for Pick Playing Field are to hand and would be checked to see if allotments could be created.
The railings and lampposts around the Village Green require painting. Quotes to be obtained and Corby BC contacted regarding available funding.
A sketch of the planned decking around the Sports Club would be available soon.
Report from Borough Councillor:-
Terri Meechan has been appointed to the Development Control Committee at Corby BC.
The new Grant structure for Councillors means that Gretton has around £1000 available for small schemes in the current financial year.
Local Democracy Week is 12th - 17th October with a meeting planned for 11-17 year olds in the Sports Club on Tuesday 13th at 6.30pm. Councillors are encouraged to attend.
Remembrance Sunday:-
Following the demise of the British Legion (Mens) Section a meeting was called by Council prior to this Meeting of interested parties and the plans are as follows:-
Service at Spanoe Airfield at 11am
Service at 3pm in the Baptist Church followed by a parade to the War Memorial on the Village Green.
Clerk to arrange printing of Service sheets.
Notice Boards:-
Mark Thompson to move old board from Village Green to Village Hall.
The Phone Box will house advertisements on local activities and services.
Correspondence:-
Letters from:- M. Dalby requesting permission to erect a greenhouse on his allotment. Clerk to reply advising Parish Council right to ask for removal at any time and owner to take responsibility for care and maintenance of the structure.
M. Jarvis complaining about increased HGV movements in the village. Stan Heggs and N.C.C. officers to be consulted as to options relating to signage.
Suzanne Preston (RPO) informing PC that brass plaques could now be fitted to waste bins explaining that dog waste suitably wrapped would be acceptable. This solution is mooted to alleviate the problem of shortage of specific dog waste bins around the village.

Village Plan:-
Tim Fox reported that an Amenities Grant is being sought for the MUGA and a Playbuilder Grant for a play area on the old tennis court. This will have a Jurassic theme. Both applications have a January 10th 2010 deadline. A Parish Council lease to Friends of Gretton Recreation Ground (FGRG) will be forthcoming after the grants are allocated. A signed constitution for FGRG is with the Rural Pride Officer at Corby BC.

09/00371/DPA:- Remove existing concrete sectional garage and build new double garage at 26, Kirby Road.
No objections.
09/00379/DPA:- Porch to front and ground floor extension to rear of 17, Kirby Road.

09/00372/DPA:- Extension and alterations to rear of 6, Craxford Road.
This is an application to amend planning consent already granted. Council reiterates its concern for neighbours privacy.

Police:-
Mark Tooley (PCSO) attended the October lunch in the Village Hall and expressed concerns over unidentified vans in the village at various times.
Any Other Business:-
No parking cones have appeared outside School recently. The caretaker may be on holiday.
Land under the Railway bridge is increasingly cluttered with building materials. Andy Royle to write to Corby BC.
The hedge on Arnhill Road has been trimmed around one third of its length. N.C.C. to be consulted as to ownership of this land.
Jane Dooley - School Head to be invited to attend next P.C. meeting
Plans are underway to replace trees lost on Brookfield Plantation on adjacent land.
Village Clean up day is scheduled for Saturday 28th November.
