The Meeting was addressed by Suzanne Preston - Rural Pride Officer at Corby BC. She was keen to promote various sponsored walks in the next month, all advertised on posters and Rural Pride Newsletter.
At the recent meetings of Rural Area Forum and its follow up, Joint Action Group, the problem of fly-tipping was explored. Suzanne asked councillors to identify any hot spots in our locality and two sites, junction of Corby Road and Gretton Brook Road and Slate Pits corner were mentioned. They will attract greater surveillance from the SCT Team,
Chairman reminded Councillors to declare an interest where appropriate.
The Minutes of the Meeting of GPC on 9th July and the Minutes of the Planning Sub Committee on 29th August were accepted as a true record and duly signed.
There were two small amendments identified on the sub committee minutes and these were actioned. There were no matters arising
Report from Borough Councillor:-
Terri Meechan informed the Meeting that Corby BC have appointed a Tree Officer with a wide ranging brief to preserve green areas.
Gretton is to receive around £80,000 as a Sec. 106 payment from the houses to be built on the Avenue farm Development
Terri will check on the destination of the cash from the land behind Cottage Salon development.

Village Plan:-
It was decided to use the Sec. 106 payment of £80,000 to provide a platform upon which other funding may be forthcoming eg WREN. A Questionnaire would be produced on the model of the Village Plan survey to assess public opinion on play areas and improvements needed. A working party of Tim Fox, Terri Meechan and Suzanne Preston will progress this. An exhibition of possibilities would also be arranged to inform villagers.

Plans to develop the land at 9, Station Road were rejected by Corby BC and have now gone to appeal. In this regard Berry's the agents wrote to us to ascertain clarification on Parish Council objections and it was decided to reply reiterating observations made at the time of the application. Responsibility is now shifted to Corby BC who will be required to defend their refusal of the scheme.

Overgrown garden at rented property in the High Street
Activities on the Village Green are welcome with prior notification to Parish Council. Insurance details need to be verified
A villager has offered to tend the land enclosed by the recent wall repair on the corner of Kirby Road and Corby Road. Clerk to follow up.
A quote for footpath and car park relaying on the Recreation Ground has been received. Others are sought
O'Connors to be asked to leave all areas of Recreation Ground in good standing before the winter.
The Street Doctor to be advised of potholes on Corby Road at entrance to the village.
The recent speeding survey around the village was raised. Signs to be placed at all times to inform drivers.
The Village Hall Committee have commissioned three surveys in respect of drains, asbestos and building. Two applications for grants have been lodged, one for re-building and one for the refurbishment of toilets.
The hedge on Caistor Road and Kirby Road is still causing concern for motorists. Council to pursue.
The position on the Grant application to provide new railings on the village green will be taken up with County Councillor at the next meeting.
