Marshall Ferguson and Tim Fox were elected as chairman and vice chairman respectively. Ailsa Dempster was added to Parish Council representation on the Allotments Charity.
Chairman reminded Councillors to declare an interest where appropriate.
The Meeting was opened to the Public. The question of litter on the village footpaths was raised along with lack of signage to these amenities. It was agreed to contact Northants CC with these concerns.
Report from County Councillor:-
Stan Heggs has produced an anti dog fouling leaflet which will be laminated and displayed. He is aiming to defray village hall expenditure by a County Council grant of £1500 for use on a new boiler.
In recent weeks Stan has suggested an alternative site for the Truck Park planned for Stanion. Islip is now being investigated.
Report from PCSO:-
Phil Beckett informed councillors of a recent burglary in the village where clothes and foodstuffs were removed. Enquiries are ongoing. Air Ambulance charity bags placed by residents for collection have been stolen by travellers.
From 18th August Operation Roadsafe will be implemented targeting vehicle crime in the area.
Motorcycle offenders are continuing to be monitored.
The Minutes of the Meeting on 14th July were accepted as a true record and duly signed.
Matters Arising:-
The report on Gretton Roads was received by Council and will be passed to Northants CC for action. Stan Heggs agreed to undertake a watching brief on this situation.
The pond in Church Gap has been cleared.
Now that all legal costs in respect of the transfer of land from Hugh Clark to Gretton PC have been settled steps will be taken to ascertain the current take up of land and all associated income.
Report from Borough Councillor:-
Neil Penson has recently been appointed by Corby Community Partnerships with a special interest in volunteers assisting Borough Council projects. He will speak to the Rural Area Forum on 21st August and PC will invite him to a meeting in the next few months.
Mayor June Addison's year in office generated £5000 for local charities.
Gretton School Council visited Corby Borough offices to be shown the workings of a local authority.
The Gretton Youth Club is going well with more helpers sought.
Corby BC is to introduce choice based lettings of council houses. Also the provision of more social housing which will not be for sale will be explored.
The Resource Recovery Facility planned for Brookfield Plantation is not yet the subject of a formal planning application to Corby BC.
Vacancy on the Parish Council:-
In order to fill the vacancy arising from the resignation of Phil Bromhall, four councillors will interview prospective candidates in the near future and report back to the next meeting.

Village Plan:-
A meeting to progress funding applications for village projects between Tim Fox, Terri Meechan and Suzanne Preston will take place soon.
Planning:-
08/00348/DPA:- Extension to front of existing dwelling to form porch and cloakroom, 46, Kirby Road. No objections were raised.
08/00374/DPA:- Single storey extension to Gretton Village Hall. No objections
Lodge Park Farms have telephoned requesting a meeting with Council. Reply to be communicated that at present there is enough development planned in the village.
Corby BC have informed Council that the application to resite the gate pillar at Gretton House is granted while the proposed house at 13, Arnhill Road is refused.

Japanese Knotweed has been found near the railway bridge. The owners of the land to be informed.
Mrs Newbold at Corby BC to be pressed for a response to Council concerns relating to trees in Station Road.
BMX track to be refurbished. Mark Thompson to progress.
Following the identification of trees which need to be made safe a tree surgeon is to be sought to undertake the work.
