2 Meeting open to public - no members of the public were present.
3 Declaration of Councillors' Interests
Chairman reminded Councillors that they should declare an interest where this was involved.
4 Minutes of meetings 28 June and 12 July 2004
Were confirmed as a true record and signed by the chairman subject to first item of the Borough Councillor's report, which should read on the second line ' there are various options and the group will oversee the process and the Council will decide which is best option'.
5 Report from Borough Councillor
Phil Bromhall reported that the new swimming pool would now be built at Town Centre, as a survey had showed that most people wanted it at that location.
He also understood that a field on the Rockingham Rd had been bought by a 'Traveller', there has been no sign of any use of the field but Diane Foster, planning enforcement officer for CBC is monitoring the situation.
6 Report from County Councillor
In a written report County Councillor reported that some planing & re-surfacing of some roads in the borough would commence in August.
7 Matters Arising from Minutes
a Replies had been received regarding housing on allotments between Kirby Rd and Fulwell Ave; discussions are taking place with the housing manager and CBC would like to know who owns the land. Clerk to inform CBC that they own the land.
b Lease with sports & Social Club - a copy of the draft agreement was sent to Sports & Social Club solicitors on 21 July.
c A quote has been received for repairs to the garage, this was detailed item by item and some items were considered unnecessary - Marshall Ferguson to arrange a quote from another source with revised spec.

9 Highway Matters
Clerk to contact Nick Gore regarding what sort of sign we can erect with the money that has been allocated to the village.
It was reported that the hedge from 9 Caistor Rd to the top of Caister Rd is overgrown and causing some problems to motorists - clerk to write to owner asking him to cut back the hedge.
10 Planning Matters
a Vehicular access - 45 High St - permission granted subject to certain conditions.
b Priors Hall Development - plans available for inspection - as this is such a large development and subject to special situation the Parish Council expressed concern over traffic and would keep a watching brief over future developments. Plans were put in circulation file.
c Erection of timber framed barn/garage - 4o High St - no objections were made in general terms except to the studio, which can be construed as living accommodation - Barrie Woolley declared an interest in this item.
d Field shelter for horses - Land North East of Lyddington Rd track leading to sewerage works - no objections.
e Rear ground floor & first floor extensions - 96 Kirby Rd - no objections.
f Clerk had received a phone call from the agents of Corus regarding their development, he had re-iterated what had been said in the letter to CBC, of which they had a copy.
g Two storey extension to side of 17 Kirby Rd - permission granted subject to certain conditions.
h Change of use of barn to offices - 74 High St - permission granted subject to certain conditions.
i Extension & alterations - 14 Arnhill Rd and Freezer warehouse - North of Birchington Rd - both subject to Development Control meeting 27 July.
j Request from planning for details of new Village Hall and also offer to further discuss Avenue farm development - Ailsa Dempster to supply clerk with available details.
k Conversion of barn to three bedroom dwelling - 28 High St - no observations regarding barn conversion but PC has concerns over access to property from Caistor Rd.
l Amendment for additional roof lights and replacement windows - Welland Barn, Kirby Rd - no objections.
m New roof & internal refurbishment - 1 Arnhill Rd - listed building consent - no objections.
n Link porch change of use - 1 Arnhill Rd - amended plans - no objections.

12 Police Matters
Letter received setting out how the Police proposed to improve service to the public; this was accompanied by a booklet with further detail - put in circulation file.
13 Village Plan
This is progressing; a meeting has been arranged for first Wednesday in Sept to discuss first draft.
14 Any Other Business
Marshall Ferguson reported the light in front of The Talbot/Welland House is not working; also the light in Harringworth Rd is permanently on.
Also reported the grass verge as you turn right into Gretton Brook Rd from Gretton needs cutting and the hedges opposite are overgrown.
Barrie Woolley reported the Wheelie Bin for the Church cemetery has disappeared - can we obtain another one - clerk to investigate.
Also reported that the drains in the village are overflowing after recent heavy rain - clerk to report to Atkins.
Andrew Royle had received a complaint from a Gretton resident regarding a vehicle which is continually speeding in the village - the vehicle no is XBZ 1113 and is an open top sports car - clerk asked to report to the Police.
Vic Clark reported that children were found kicking a football against the roller shutter door of the pavilion at 10.30 p.m.
Terri Meechan had been told by Lloyd Davis that the Half Pipe needs repairing and it may be shut down. As clerk is awaiting letters sent to Lloyd Davis regarding BMX cycle track and he has never received notice about repairs to half pipe clerk will take matters up with him.
She also reported that a considerable amount of rubbish needed to be cleared from playing field when the play scheme was being held at Gretton.
