2 Meeting open to public - no members of the public were present.
3 Declaration of Councillors' Interests Chairman reminded Councillors that they should declare an interest where this was involved.
4 Minutes of meeting held 14 June 2004
Were confirmed as a true record and signed by chairman, subject to item 6 should read 'County' Councillor and not 'Borough' Councillor and in item 14 Tim Fox did not specifically ask for 2 copies of the Welcome pack.
5 Report from Borough councillor
Phil Bromhall reported that a Focus group has been formed to discuss Council housing; there are various options and the group will decide what is best option to carry out.
Also reported that a Boundary Committee has been set up by the Boundary Commission. Changes will be made to give more equality per Councillor.
He asked if letter had been sent to N. Stronack about housing - clerk has sent letter but no reply received to date.
C.B.C. is undergoing an audit and one thing that has come out of this audit is that instead of talking about Corby Town they should be talking about Corby Borough.
He also reported that, in general, the pavements in the village are in poor condition and also the Churchyard is in poor condition.
6 Report from County Councillor
In his absence the clerk read out the report which said that a further £10m for B, C And unclassified roads is now available and agreed an extra £25m be spent over the next three years.
The council's Cabinet gave authority to consult on closure of Our Lady & Pope John school and make provision for the pupils elsewhere in Corby. Corby head teachers are agreed on a way forward and provisions are in place for a staged closure.
County Council have committed £5m towards Corby Borough Civic Hub, seeking to establish a new library and shared offices for a one-stop shop facility.
7 Matters Arising from Minutes
a Lease with Sports & Social Club is now in the hands of our solicitors.
b Housing Strategy Consultation details now available - circulation file.
c Monitoring Officer/Parish clerks session - clerk attended this meeting with deputy chief Executive; the main things that came out of this meeting were that she does not have any problems with Parish councils and there are amendment forms for any changes in Registered Interests and that Freemasons should report that fact as part of their Interests.
d Weekly checks of the BMX cycle track has been checked with Lloyd Davis at CBC who said he was not aware a request had been made; clerk sent copy of letter sent to C. Stevenson dated 30 June 2003 for his information.

a Plan of Gretton street lighting received from Ian Tattershall - Paul Seaton agreed to look at plan and check situation of lights throughout the village.
b NALC training for AQA certificate - clerk to complete questionnaire. Half-day conference about grant for Solar Panels and NALXC Update - to be put in circulation file.
c MP surgery dates - already in Notice Board.

12 Police Matters
Burglary in Harringworth Rd 8 July - entry gained by saying they need to check water taps; letter received from Police asking for information within 24 hrs. Parish Council expressed need for people to be aware of this type of con man and to keep doors locked.
13 Village Plan
Particular thanks to Ailsa Dempster for all the work on the stats produced from questionnaire. A meeting of the committee will be held at 2 Clay Lane on Monday 19 July at 7.30 p.m.
14 Any Other Business
Marshall Ferguson thought the 'rented garage' needs new guttering, slates replacing, door frame repairing - Sue Forsey to obtain two quotes for carrying out repairs.
Barrier at bottom of Caistor Rd/High St has two tubes missing and others need repairing - clerk to chase.
'Clinkers' footpath & footpath at bottom of Vic Clark's field near railway line have been cleared, understand that David Ward cut these two footpaths - clerk to thank Mr Ward.
Bottom footpath from Kirby Rd to Fulwell Ave has been cleared but not the top footpath - clerk to contact Ian Hopeland, head of street cleaning.
Paul Seaton reported he had attended the funeral of the chairman of Caldecot Parish council.
Also report he had represented Gretton in a Golf Match organised by Harringworth - he had finished third.
Tim Fox reported weeds around the Stocks need clearing - Marshall Ferguson agreed to do this.
Vic Clark reported that the footpath from the Church to Caistor Rd was overgrown with weeds and stinging nettles - clerk to talk to NCC.
Terri Meechan asked if 'Corby Our Borough' had been received in the village - it did not appear anyone had received a copy - Terri To chase.
She had been to an exhibition by Bee Bee Developments at Priors Hall and had spoken to a rep there about the Corus development in Gretton who had assured her the sewerage system will be OK.
She made the point that the new pavilion doors are good, could we have some new windows - agreed to get a quote for windows.
Wanted confirmation that permission for the fair on 29 August was approved - this was approved on the understanding that they will have their own insurance cover.
Ailsa Dempster reported that under the Lifelong Learning scheme a computer taster course would be held on 24 September and then a ten week course held later. Also reported that a course in Spanish for holidays would also be held in Village Hall.
